I live in a small city in Germany, Germans used to live in cities with 9.000, 20.000, 40.000 people, and not everyone tries to relocate to Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt-am-Main, or Hamburg. As I was born in Kyiv and have lived there all my life, I used to live in a big city, and be in the epicenter of cultural life surrounded by museums, theatres, cinemas, beautiful architecture, and of course a wide variety of art and business events. But here I am in a small city and I need to build somehow life here, not waiting for this life, but creating it with my own hands and attitude.

I have a ritual to which I dedicate around three hours each Saturday. I take the book I am reading now and go to a café near the church. This is almost the only café where you can order coffee with lactose-free milk: oat or almond. Besides, there is a big terrace outside, and literally I can sit and observe the city, and people, and feel the atmosphere, which means to tune with it and make the resonance with it.
On Saturdays, there are a lot of people there because in such a city you will not find hundreds of cafes, and the quantity is very limited. So, I buy a regular small cup of coffee with oat milk, sit down, take two or three swallows, then take three deep breaths, open my book, and wait. I don’t read at this moment. I wait…. Wait for what? For tuning…. I hear Arabic and German language, a lot of people they are talking and talking, then some laughter, I look up and watch people passing by….what do they wear, how they walking, what are their movements (more confident or unsure, slow or fast), are they alone or with a family, what they are talking about…. All these help me to feel the rhythm and vibration of the city and its inhabitants.
Among all these voices, noises, and movement is a special portal for silence, which is a meditative state of your mind that does not depend on outer silence, it could be silent even in a turbulent and chaotic situation. I like this state very much. At this moment, I am relaxed and a smile appears on my face and I begin to ultimately read. I still hear voices in the background, but they do not disturb me, even more, they help me to tune with the essence of the book. As usual, during such rituals, I have a lot of “A-ha” moments and insights. My Souls knows perfectly well when to return and to stop, and as usual, it is about two-three hours.
Rituals are very helpful in our everyday and professional lives, they enrich four main aspects: Authenticity, Creativity, Communication, and Uncertainty.
Authenticity. Rituals aid us not only in tuning in with the city but also in tuning in with our Higher Self and feeling ourselves in that particular place.
Creativity. Rituals boost our creativity and reveal new facets of it.
Communication. Rituals help us to LISTEN, that the most important part of any communication.
Uncertainty. Rituals help us to adapt to the uncertainty as each single Saturday creative coffee meeting will be different and unique.
Try to create your ritual/rituals or copy-paste the main and access the hidden energy inside your essence and new potentials for a better life and as a result better you.
